DEPARTMENT OF Computer Science and Engineering: One Day National Level Technical Symposium on 04.30.2017

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering of the CK College of Engineering & Technology, Cuddalore, organized a National Level Technical Symposium, 'SparCK'17 on 4th of March 2017. Dr.R. Murugan, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of the college welcomed the gathering. The symposium SparCK'17 was inaugurated by Mr. Karthick Vigneshwar P.S Director & Technical Advisor, InfySec UK and he has also released the souvenir of the symposium SparCK'17. The inauguration was presided over by Shri. D. Chanderasekaran, Director of CK Group of Institutions and Dr Arun V. Parwate, Principal of the CK College of Engineering offered felicitations. A Workshop on Cyber Security and Safety was conducted as part of the Symposium. Chief Guest Mr. Karthick Vigneshwar P.S spoke about various security issues of the internet and its associated services. He emphasized the students to raise awareness about the importance of cyber security and on maximizing the user's personal safety and minimizing security risks to private information. In total 162 students from various colleges have participated. Paper presentations on various emerging topics were presented by the students of various colleges. Apart from paper presentation, other events like Technical Quiz, technical connection, code debugging, ad-zap were also conducted. Talents from each events were identified and presented with laurels and cash prizes.

The Department of Civil Engineering conducted First national level Technical Symposium titled "Integrity'17". The session comprised of forenoon and afternoon, which was held from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. The "Integrity'17" comprised of Paper exposition, Postal exposition, Morphogeny, Scavenger hunts, Parallel Analogy, Catechism Connection, Technical Quiz and the special events are Photography 7 Short film. More than 150 participants including company officials, academicians and management professionals attended the symposium. Dr.K.Muthukkumaran, Professor& Head, NIT, Trichy was the chief guest. Dr.A.Hemalatha, Prof & Head, Department of Civil Engineering, delivered the Welcome address in which she insisted, the session would drive the ideas to step in to a new level. Shri.Mr.D.Chandarasekaran, respected Director, delivered Presidential address and Dr. Arun V.Parwate, respected Principal, delivered Felicitation address. The chief guest delivered the Inaugural address. The Proceedings of "Integrity'17" was released in the presence of the resource persons. CIVIL DEPARTMENT: Industrial Practical Knowledge Training at Ramco Cement Limited, Cement Nagar Post, near Pennadam, Sendurai Taluk, Alathiyur, Tamil Nadu

Outcome: At first, as studied theoretically, the cement manufacturing process was looking very small at textbook. After the entry at RAMCO Alathiyur plant, students were taken to every steps of progress in manufacturing cement and by this remarkable trip, students have realized how big the process are and how good the RAMCO is working to preserve environment by implementing eco-friendly machineries. Simply, the cement manufacturing process from initial to final stage was explained with experts at each part of works. It helped them to get clear idea to about types of cement process and ingredients of the cement in examination.
CIVIL DEPARTMENT: Parent Teacher's Meet on 6th, 7th &8th March 2017

The Parent teachers meeting for the Department of Civil Engineering was conducted on 06.03.2017 to 08.03.2017 for II, III and IV Year. At the time of meeting 81 parents have presented. (II yr- 33, III yr- 27 & IV yr- 21 Parents) and given suggestions/feedback. Dr.A.Hemalatha, HoD of Civil Engineering addressed the parents meeting with the department's vision and mission and also she spoke about various career opportunities available to the students including opportunity in government agencies. Mr.M.Anand, AP/civil (Parent Teacher meeting Coordinator) manifested the clear view of the department activities have been conducted till date. The Parents individually met the class incharge, subject handling faculties and discussed the internal performance of their son/daughter. Finally parents gave their feedback.

I MBA students went for an Industrial Practical Knowledge Training to Cavinkare Dairy and Beverage Plant, Erode on 03.03.2017. Students gained knowledge on the various training areas for different products followed within the organization. Also students learned about the shelf line period for a product and how to retain the efficacy of the product until the shelf line period.

Department of Management studies organized HR Club activity on "Resume Building & Interviewing Skills" for II MBA Students on 16.2.17. Mr.S.Baskaran, CEO, DEE HR Consultants, Puducherry addressed the students. Resource Person provided various tips and suggestions for building resume for fresher's and ways to enhance interviewing skills. He enunciated that interviewing skills cannot be acquired in a short period, one should show keen interest in learning new things & thereby enhance their skills to face the interviews with enough confidence. He also shared few strategies for developing interview skills.

Through this Pre Placement Training the students were gained knowledge regarding aptitude test, Verbal communication etc. They improved their communication skills through group discussion. As well as the students have got a clear idea about the Interview which help them to face the interview without fear. ECE DEPARTMENT: FIVE DAYS VALUE ADDED COURSE ON 'JAVA PROGRAMMING - MODULE 2'

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering has organized the five days Value Added Course on JAVA Programming - Module 2 from 26.12.2016 to 30.12.2016. 18 students of Final year ECE and 10 students of pre - final year ECE had participated in this Value Added Course. Mrs. Sindhu Nair and Mrs. Sujatha have joined to be the resource person for this course. The course started with the inauguration on 26th December 2016. Dr. N. Mahendran, Professor and Head welcomed the gathering with his welcome address and insisted the students about the importance of certification. The main aim of this value added course is to train the students for appearing Oracle Certified Associate Java Programmer (OCAJP) certification. At the end of the course, students gained the basic knowledge on OCAJP certification. The course ended with the valedictory function on 30th December 2016.

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering has organized the four days Value Added Course on MATLAB from 27.12.2016 to 30.12.2016. 13 students of pre - final year ECE and 12 students of second year ECE had participated in this Value Added Course. Mr. M. Kannan has joined to be the resource person for this course. The course started with the inauguration on 27th December 2016. Dr. N. Mahendran, Professor and Head welcomed the gathering. The main aim of this value added course is to train the students for appearing Mathwork Certified MATLAB Associate (MCMA) Developer certification. At the end of the course, students gained the basic knowledge on MATLAB.

CIVIL DEPARTMENT: One day workshop on "Recent Advances in Civil Engineering" on 11.01.2017

The department of Civil Engineering had organized one day workshop titled " Recent Advances in Civil Engineering " on 11.01.2017 at Dr. Hema ChinniKrishnan Hall for selected 178 students of second, third and Final year Civil . The inaugural function of the one day workshop was initiated with prayer song. The Head of the Department of Civil Dr.A.Hemalatha welcomed the Resource person Mrs.Sophia Jayakumar and insisted the students on the importance of the innovative strategies to be followed to become an unique engineer and to stand out from the crowd of passing out engineers. The Department of Civil Engineering has organized a ten days Value added Course on "AUTO CAD 3D & 3Ds Max" for the second & third year civil students from 16th to 26th December 2016 in CKCET. The main aim of the Value Added Course is to identify the potential students and allowing them to appear for the certification courses on "AUTOCAD 3D & 3Ds Max". The inaugural of the Value added course is commenced with the welcome address of Dr. A.Hemalatha, HoD of Civil Department briefed about the importance of the topic .Our esteemed resource person Mr. K.N.Thirumalaisamy, from Creative I CAD, Coimbatore who clarify the importance of "AUTOCAD 3D & 3Ds Max" to all students. This course was very useful to all the students; through this course students acquired knowledge and clarity towards emerging the Auto CAD 3D & 3Ds Max software. The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering had successfully signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MNRE Channel Partners Green Power Solar System (P) Ltd., Chennai on 07.10.2016 for training the students in developing their Technical and Entrepreneural skills in Renewable Energy sector.
Department of EEE: Guest Lecture in the topic of "EE6701 - HIGH VOLTAGE ENGINEERING"

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering had successfully conducted an Industrial Oriented Guest Lecture in the topic of "EE6701 - HIGH VOLTAGE ENGINEERING" on 05.10.16 by 2:00 PM in the college campus. The Guest Lecture was intended to educate the practical views on the applications of High Voltage Engineering. The Resource Person was Er.L.K.Sankaran, Senior Manager, Training(HRD), TANGEDCO, Thiruvannamalai. He explained about the utilization of various high voltage components used for sub station automation, procedure for the installation of high voltage equipments in sub stations, safety measures in sub stations. He also explained about the practical utilization of formulas used in High Voltage Engineering.
Department of EEE : Placement Training Programme

The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering had successfully conducted a Placement Training Programme on 23.09.2016 at 10.00 am for the eligible final Year students. The Resource person for this training programme is Er. P. Balakrishnan, Maintenance Manager (Electrical), Infosys Chennai. The Placement Training Program started with Welcome address by Mr. N. Kamalakannan - HOD of EEE Department. The Presidential address was given by Dr. Arun V. Parwate, Principal of CKCET. The Chief Guest Er. P. Balakrishnan delivered the keynote address. The objective of this Training program is to guide the students to perform well in their placement Drives. The Resource person continuously interacted and guided the students by conducted Group Discussions, Mock Interviews, and Aptitude test etc & motivating them to contribute in this Placement activity. He also helped the students to improve their command on English language & Communication skill. So in context of achieving this goal department organized the "Placement Training Program" for the final year students, in which resource person kept various sessions to groom student's skills and personality. The session was ended with words of gratitude by Mr. R. Karthick, AP / EEE, Department Placement cell coordinator

Students of I & II MBA along with faculty members attended MMA Student Convention'16 in the theme of leadership perspectives at Kamaraj Arangam, Chennai on 29th & 30th of September 2016. Students gained insight on various leadership perspectives under various business sessions. Renowned Entrepreneurs & Business Executives shared their experience & knowledge. This Convention paved a platform for the students to enhance their competence & skills for sustaining in the present business world.

Department of management studies organized executive interaction on 28.09.2016 for the students of both I & II MBA. Mr.B.Ramakrishnan, Promoter, BRK Academy interacted with the students in the topic of Financial Management & Business Opportunities. He discussed on various topics Net worth & Profit/Loss Account, Total outside liability (TOL) & Tangible Net worth (TNW), Significance of Ratio Analysis, and Differentiation between venture capital & Mutual fund. He also highlighted the availability of various start-up schemes offered by government of India. He also emphasized the MSME Central government Scheme for the students.



ALUMNI INTERACTION

Department of management studies invited Alumni of 2011-13 batch Mr.A.Antony Fernando for an Alumni interaction for the students of MBA on 24.09.16. Alumni discussed with the students in the topic of HR Trends - Leading to Achievement of organization (Contemporary HR Trends). He discussed on various areas such as Employee Payroll, Statutory and non-compliance.

Department of management studies organized a One day workshop for future managers on 22.09.2016. Dr. Wee Kingsly, Training Head, Kings Training Academy motivated the students of both I & II MBA. He trained students on interpersonal Skills, Interview skills, Career focus, attitude and other soft skills essential for present Job market. In Science and Humanities Department, Social Welfare club in association with Students young CKreators'16 has conducted the drawing competition for I year students for displaying Gandhiji's principles among the students with the purpose of celebrating Gandhi Jayanthi. "The three Clubs have been started in the Department of Science and Humanities with the keen eye of making awareness among the students to involve in the club activities for the academic year 2016- 2017. The three clubs in association with YOUNG CK Reators (students Association) have organized the competitions on 23.09.2016. 1) Literary Club has conducted Essay Writing, Poetry Writing and Elocution (English) competitions for intensifying curiosity of the students and enhance knowledge in writing essays and poems. 2) Social Welfare Club has conducted speech competition, video presentation and poster presentation entitled "Ozone Depletion" to create awareness among the students. 3) Science Club has conducted "Recycling Expo" to create awareness about 3R in order to avoid the environmental issues".

Mechanical Engineering Department organised one-day workshop on "Motivational Skills" on 26.09.16 for III Year students. Dr.S.Selvam, Eminence Professor, Former Placement Director, Anna University, Chennai was the resource person. Dr.S.Selvam served more than 39 years in academics and has published nine books. He guided 32 Ph.Ds in technical and management areas. He is also a member in various International and National forums and advisor to many International organisations. Mr. G.K. Mallieswaran welcomed the gathering and the Head of the department honoured the chief guest. Dr.Selvam gave motivational speech to the students. He instructed the students about the skills required to get employed in this competitive world. He also elaborated various core areas of mechanical engineering opportunities.

Mechanical Engineering Department organised one-day workshop on "Empowering Entrepreneurship skills" on 27.09.16 for final year students. Mr.M.S.Subramaniyan, Deputy G.M ,NSIC ,Govt of India was the resource person. He is well-experienced person in giving motivational speeches. He instructed about the excellence of being an Entrepreneur. He explained about the assets required to become an Entrepreneur and the challenges to be faced in becoming an Entrepreneur. He also gave ideas about getting the financial assistance and the Government programmes which helps to become an Entrepreneur. The workshop was very useful to the students who has the idea of becoming an Entrepreneur.

Department of Management Studies, CK College of Engineering and Technology, Cuddalore organized Inaugural Function of Canel Ken '16 - MBA Students Association on 14.09.2016. Mr. Jayaprakash Thindayote, Chairman MMA Puducherry Chapter was the Chief Guest. In the inaugural address he stressed about the importance of planning in every individual's life. Shri D. ISTE STAFF CHAPTER: "Teaching & Learning"

CK College of Engineering &Technology, Cuddalore under the banner of ISTE staff chapter organized a one day workshop on "Teaching & Learning" for the faculties on Friday, 02.09.2016. Dr. Arun V. Parwate, Principal, CKCET welcomed the gathering. Shri.D. Chandrasekaran, Director, CK Group of Institutions Delivered the Presidential address. The inaugural address was delivered by Dr.R.Srinivasan, Professor, IIM, Bangalore, who has acted as a resource person. Dr.R.Srinivasan threw light on the difference between child and adult learning, Erikson's 7 stages of life and Kolb's learning cycle. Finally Mr. K. Mallieswaran, Professor Department of Mechanical Engineering and secretary of ISTE Staff chapter expressed his gratitude to the gathering. The ISTE Staff chapter faculty coordinators have made the workshop a grand success.


S&H DEPARTMENT: SOFT SKILL TRAINING PROGRAMME

In the view of developing the student's skills in all areas, the Science and Humanities department conducted Soft Skill Training Programme by the JADE Training Resources Pvt. Ltd., from 27.08.2016 to 03.02.2016. The special intention of this program is motivating and counselling the problems of the students. The students got involved with more curiosity and enjoyed very much in the program. Every day, the program started at 10.00 a.m. and ended at 5.00 p.m. The program had two sessions -Forenoon and Afternoon. During the sessions, the trainers had some innovative ideas to make the sessions interesting and useful by the following activities. Self Introduction, Public Speaking, Group-interaction, Activities in the form of games, Chart Drawing, and Story-telling etc.


CIVIL DEPARTMENT: Parent Teacher's Meet on 29th, 30th &31th August 2016

The Parent teachers meeting for the Department of Civil Engineering was conducted on 29.08.16 to 31.08.2016 for II, III and IV Year. Mrs.A.Hemalatha, HoD of Civil Engineering welcomed the gathering and addressed the parents with the department's vision and mission also she spoke about various career opportunity available to the students including opportunity in government agencies. She has explained the importance about the Training and Placement. HoD & Class Incharges were also narrated about various activities organized by the Department of Civil and by the institution for the welfare of the students. The total number of 93 parents have attended the meeting (II yr- 45, III yr- 27 & IV yr- 21 Parents) and given suggestions/feedback.


ECE DEPARTMENT: National Level Technical Festival "NEITHAL'16"

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering has organized the National Level Technical Festival "NEITHAL'16" on 31.08.2016. The students from various colleges of Tami Nadu have participated in this grand event. Dr. S. Dharmalingam, General Manager (Retd.), BHEL, Trichy - Visiting Prof., NIT, Trichy has graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Mrs. Sukanya Sivakumar CEO & Founder, Write IT Solutions, Bangalore has lightened the Inaugural Function as a guest of honor.

Dr. N. Mahendran, Prof. & Head of Electronics & Communication Engineering has welcomed the gathering. Dr. Arun V. Parwate, Principal has delivered the special address of the occasion. Shri. D. Chandrasekaran, Director, CK Group of Institutions has felicitated the gathering. Dr. S. Dharmalingam has inaugurated the festival NEITHAL'16 and delivered the inspiring speech which motivated the young budding engineers. Mrs. Sukanya Sivakumar delivered a key note address. 95 external participants and 51 internal participants have participated in this mega festival. Mr. P. Prabakaran, Asst. Prof. / ECE have proposed the vote of thanks in the valedictory function.


ECE DEPARTMENT: Guest Lecture in "Applications of Embedded Systems in Thermal Power Stations"

The Department of ECE has organized the one day Guest Lecture in "Applications of Embedded Systems" on 31.08.2016. Dr. S. Dharmalingam, General Manager (Retd.), BHEL, Trichy & Visiting Professor, NIT, Trichy has participated as a chief guest and delivered the lecture on the introduction about the power stations & various power generating stations in Tamil Nadu & the applications of thermal power stations with the Embedded Systems. 85 students of final year, Pre - Final Year & Second year had participated in this lecture.

The Dept. of ECE has organized one day Guest Lecture in "Working with JAVA Datatypes" on 31.08.2016. Mrs. Sukanya Sivakumar, CEO & Founder and Mrs. Sujatha Thirumalai, Lead Technology Instructional Designer, Write IT Solutions, Bangalore have participated as a Chief guest and delivered the lecture on the basics of JAVA and the various datatypes used. 25 Students of Final Year and Pre - Final ECE had participated in this Lecture.

The Dept. of ECE has organized one day Lecture in "Sensor Interfacing in LabVIEW Environment" on 31.08.2016. Mr. V. Vasanth Kumar, Senior Application Engineer, VI Solutions, NI Solutions, Bangalore have participated as a chief guest and delivered a hands - on - training on the sensor network and its interfacing with LabVIEW. 20 CLAD Certified Engineers had participated in this workshop.

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering has organized the parents meet on 26.08.2016. 120 parents of II, III and Final year Students had participated in this. Dr. N. The Department of ECE has organized the Alumni Interaction on 16.08.2016. Ms. T. Sumathi, R & D Engineer, Continental Automotive Components has participated as a guest and gave a speech on "Expectation of industry while recruiting fresh Engineers". 60 students from final year ECE had participated in this interaction. Following to the interaction, the mock interview was conducted for the placement eligible students.


CSE DEPARTMENT: Parent Teacher Meet on 19th August 2016

The Parents teachers meeting for the Department of Computer Science and Engineering were conducted on 19.08.16 for II, III and IV Year. Dr. R. Murugan, HoD of Computer Science and Engineering has welcomed the gathering and addressed the parents with the department's vision and mission also he spoke about various career opportunity available to the students including opportunity in government agencies. He has explained the importance about the Training and Placement. He also narrated about various activities organized by the Department of CSE and by the institution for the welfare of the students. The total of 75 parents have attended the meeting (II yr- 23, III yr- 30 & IV yr- 22 Parents) and given suggestions/feedback.


CSE DEPARTMENT: MOCK INTERVIEW BY ALUMNI on 6th August 2016

A Mock Interview was conducted for students of CSE VII Semester, CKCET Campus on 06 August 2016 with the help of the Alumni of batches 2007 and 2013. Dr. R. Murugan, HoD of Computer Science and Engineering has welcomed the gathering. The Interview panel assessed the technical and communication competence of the students and gave them individual and group feedback on their performances. Students found it to be a good rehearsal for actual job interview. it was treated as a part of placement related training and continuous assessment of the students during the course. . The 24 students of CSE VII semester attended the MI and reported on time. The MI was conducted from 10 am to 3: 00 pm on 6th August 2016. Students were divided into two groups and were allotted different time slots in order to minimize waiting and inconvenience to them.

MECH DEPARTMENT: Parents Meet on 23.08.16 and 24.08.16

Mechanical Engineering Department organised Parent meet for second, third and final year students on 23.08.2016 and 24.08.2016.Around 180 parents attended the meet. Students performance in University examination and IAT Performance were discussed with the parents. Students discipline issues also discussed. Parents feedback also collected for the improvement of the students and academics. Mr. R.K. Kalaiselvan coordinated the meet.


MECH DEPARTMENT: Association Inauguration on 06.08.16

Mechanical engineering department conducted students association inauguration on 06.08.2016. Association joint secretary A.Vimalnath(final year) welcomed the gathering and secretary M.Dhanasekar (final year) expressed about the association activities of this academic year. Association faculty coordinator Mr. R.Murasu, Assistant professor introduced various student members of the association. Shri. P. HARINARAYANAN, Manager, Quality Assurance, Strides Shasun, Cuddalore was the chief guest. He is a good experienced person in industries. He lectured about career guidance, most importantly about the careful preparation of RESUME. He instructed the students not to just copy their resume from their friends and to prepare their own with their own skills. He also told about the importance of Emotional Quotient (EQ) in working atmosphere. Students with Good CGPA were awarded in the function. . The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering has planted the trees in the premise of CK School of Practical Knowledge Mat. Hr. Sec. School, Cuddalore on 11th August 2016.Shri. D. Chandrasekaran, Director,Dr. Arun V. Parwate, Principal, Dr. N. Mahendran, Head of Electronics & Communication Engineering Department, Faculty Members and various students of ECE had participated in this event. The main focus of this tree plantation is to promote, encourage, aid, organize and assist in the improvement of productive capacity of degraded lands.


MBA DEPARTMENT : IPKT AT CAVINKARE KANCHEEPURAM (DAIRY DIVISION)

II MBA students went for an Industrial Practical Knowledge Training to CavinKare (Dairy Division ) at Kancheepuram on 29.07.2016. Students gained insight on Strategic Control and Resource Allocation. Students also acquainted knowledge on processing of milk, curd and idly batter, they understood the manufacturing process of the division.


EEE DEPARTMENT : The Student Association Inauguration Egnites - 16 on 01.08.2016

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering had inaugurated the student association Egnites - 16 on 01.08.2016. The inaugural function was initiated with the Invocation. The Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mr. N. Kamalakannan welcomed the gathering. The Director, CK Group of Educational Institutions, Shri. D. Chandrasekaran presided over the function. The Principal Dr. Arun V. Parwate felicitated the gathering. The Chief Guest Mr. N. Sundararaman, Senior Manager, TAQA, Neyveli Power Co. Pvt. Ltd., delivered a special note address on the topic "Power Plant Engineering- Perspective of Power in Global Scenario". In his address , the chief guest insisted on the need of positive attitude for students to come up in their life and described about various career opportunities for electrical engineers available all over the world. The department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering had organized a one day workshop titled "Mind Mapping Techniques" on 28.07.2016 at Dr. Hema ChinniKrishnan Hall for selected 65 students of second , third and Final year EEE . The Resource Person Dr.Wee Kingsly, Mind mapping Techniques Practitioner carried out the one day workshop for the students. The inaugural function of the one day workshop was initiated with the prayer song. The Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Mr. N. Kamalakannan welcomed the gathering and insisted the students on the importance of the innovative strategies to be followed to become an unique engineer and to stand out from the crowd of passing out engineers. The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering had organized a five day Value added Course on "Electrical CADD Designing - Industrial Application" for the final year EEE students. This Value added course was scheduled to conduct in two batches one from 20.06.2016 to 24.06.2016 and second batch is from 27.06.2016 to 01.07.2016 CADD School, in CKCET. The Inauguration started with Lighting of kuthuvilaku. Mr. N. Kamalakannan, HOD of EEE Department welcomed the gathering, Dr. Arun V. Parwate Principal of CKCET gave the presidential address and Mr. R. SenthilKumaran, from CADD School, Chennai delivered the inaugural address then explained the importance of Computer Aided Design in Electrical. The session was very useful and thought provoking. The Students acquired knowledge and clarity towards emerging the Electrical CADD. The Session ended with the Vote of thanks by Coordinator Mr. A. The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering has organized the motivation program on "What winners do to win" on 04th August 2016 by 12.00 PM. The resource person for the program was Mr. G. Senthil Kumar, Chairman, Helikx Open School Learning Centre, Salem. Dr. N. Mahendran, HoD of Electronics & Communication Engineering has welcomed the gathering. The program highlights on the enhancement of interview skills and interview performance, Expectation of companies from 21st century engineers, general awareness on mobile usage and behavior in class, etc. He also highlighted with real time case studies, live examples and demos. The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering has conducted three days Value Added Course on C for the second year students from 04th August 2016 to 06th August 2016. The Resource persons for the Value Added Course are Mr. Ganesh, MCA and Mr. C. Vigneswaran from Kalvi Higher Education & Research Institute, Coimbatore. The main aim of the Value Added Course is to identify the potential students and allowing them to appear for the certification courses on C. This Value Added Course paves a way for attempting the students to get a certification which will be really useful for getting their placement in IT companies.

This association is formed basically to bring out the hidden talents of the students, for which we have planned to release newsletters periodically where the members can come out with their innovative ideas, share informative articles so that they can gain more knowledge about this cyber world. CSE Dept: Inauguration of Student Association and GL on Current Trends in IT on 28.06.2016

CK College of Engineering and Technology, Department of Computer Science and Engineering Student Association "Code Kermit`16" was inaugurated on 29th July 2016, Thursday. The chief guest of the day was Mr. K. Ragu Raman, Senior Officer - HR & Admin, Suresoft Systems Pvt. Ltd The function was presided over by Director of CK Group of Institutions Shri. D. Chanderasekaran, Princpal Dr. Arun V. Parwate Head of the department Dr. R. Murugan, welcomed the gathering and the Association`s Plan of action for the academic year 2016-17 was presented by student president Ms. K. Dhivya. The Principal Arun V. Parwate spoke about the challenges and opportunities available for the students and advised the students to aim higher and to work harder. The Director Sri. D. Chanderasekaran, advised the students to be "Job Givers" rather than being "Job Seekers" The chief guest Mr. Ragu Raman released the department`s annual newsletter and student magazine and spoke about the current trends in the IT industry and its demands and how students should prepare for becoming "Employable", he also interacted with the students and clarified various doubts of the students regarding the expectations of the IT field Mr. Ragu Raman motivated and suggested the students to take up challenging tasks and pointed out various ways of acquiring new skills that are highly in demand for being successful in IT profession. The Department of Civil Engineering conducted a one day workshop on "Building Sparkle into Your Life" started at 10:00AM on 25/04/2016. Resource person Dr.S.Selvam, Former Director CUIC, Anna University Chennai. Mr.G.K.Mallieswaran, HOD of Civil Engineering Department welcomed the gathering. All second and third year students were actively participated in the workshop (Motivational programme). Chief Guest gave speech and presentation about the importance of Attitude, Employability skills and Practical Knowledge. It will help the students to gain motivation for their final year placement and strong interaction with the resource person provided fundamental knowledge regarding the better performance in interviews. Feed backs from the students were collected at end of the workshop. The students felt that this workshop was conducted at right time and their satisfaction over the knowledge gained through this workshop. Resource person Ms.G.Vinodhini, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, Mailam Engineering College. Mr.G.K.Mallieswaran, HOD of Civil Engineering Department welcomed the gathering. All second year students were actively participated in the Guest Lecture. It helps the students, to gain knowledge about materials used in the construction. The guest lecture provided an excellent platform for strong interaction with the speaker helps the students to learn the basics of the subject. Students got an overview of Construction materials. Students acquire knowledge in scope and importance of Civil Engineers at various industries. They also got knowledge on software used in the Construction field. The Department of Civil Engineering conducted a Guest Lecture on "Design of Steel Structure" started at 9:00AM on 28/02/2016. Resource person Mr.S.Raju, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, Mailam Engineering College. Mr.G.K.Mallieswaran, HOD of Civil Engineering Department welcomed the gathering. All third year students were actively participated in the Guest Lecture. It helps the students, to gain knowledge about the steel structure design. The workshop provided an excellent platform for strong interaction with the speaker helps the students to learn the basics of the subject. Students got an overview of steel structure construction. Students acquire knowledge in scope and importance of Civil Engineers at various industries. They also got knowledge on software used in the Construction field. Department Of MBA : Organized a Two Day Seminar on Best HR Practices

A two day seminar on Best HR Practices was organised by NLC & NIPM (Neyveli Chapter) on 29.04.16 AND 30.04.16 at the Learning and Development Centre, NLC Block 20 Neyveli. Six students from I MBA along with the staff attended the seminar . The seminar had discussions on various recent HR practices of today's business arena. The seminar had four sessions along with visit to the Mines and Thermal power Station. Students gained knowledge about the various methods of Performance Appraial, Talent Management ,Career Planning and various provisions in Labour Laws. Students also understood the various Facets of HR ,that would groom their career in their future.

Department Of MBA : Organized a Guest Lecture on ERP and ERP in Project Management.

A guest lecture was organised by the department of management studies on 30.04.16 in the topic "ERP and ERP in Project Management" by Mr. S.Senthil Nathan, General Manager, Systems, CKPL, Chennai. The program was organised at Dr.Hema Chinni Krishnan Hall, CKCET. The session had discussions on the ERP system at Cavinkare unit. The integrated information, its efficiency and security procedures along with SAP and Operating System that are utilized at CavinKare and its importance in organization were discussed in the lecture. The students also clarified their queries about implementation process of ERP.

Department Of MBA : Organized a Guest Lecture on Opportunities and threats for import business

A guest lecture was organised by the department of management studies on 03.05.16 in the topic "Opportunities and threats for import business" by Mrs.D.Deeba, Proprietorix, Jai Pranav Impex, Pondicherry. The program was organised at Dr.Hema Chinni Krishnan Hall, CKCET. The session had discussions on import business opportunities in rural market. The importance of SWOT analysis in any business. Discussions also included the opportunities for importing and exporting business available in India and financial assistance provided by our government for youth society and Women in order to motivate them in entrepreneurship. Students' queries in involving themselves in such business were also clarified during the session.

Department Of Mechanical Engineering Organized A National Level Technical Symposium On 09/03/2016:

A National Level Technical symposium was conducted by the Department of Mechanical Engineering at 09th March 2016. The symposium was titled with "meCKsym'16". The day greeted us with pleasant and memorable moments. The session comprised of forenoon and afternoon which was held from 10:00 am to 5:00pm. The inaugural address was delivered by our chief guest Mr. N.Rajasekaran, Senior Manager, BHEL, Trichy who made our event memorable and guided students about the on-going trends.

MBA DEPARTMENT - A National level Intercollegiate Management Meet (CKENSPECK '16)

A National level Intercollegiate Management meet (CKENSPECK '16) was organised by the department of management studies on 15.03.16.The meet was inaugurated by our Director sir and Principal sir. Mr. R. Rajesh Senior Manager,(International Business Unit) CKPL, Chennai addressed the gathering on the importance of higher education in their carrier. The program was organised at Dr .Hema Chinni Krishnan Hall, CKCET. About 156 students from 18 colleges in and around Cuddalore participated in the event .The events like Quiz, ADZAP, Short film, Management Game ,Wealth from waste ,Business plan were conducted. The participants involved themselves with zeal and enthusiasm.

Mr.S.Harish Territory Manager(Tamilnadu & Kerala) ICCI Prudential Mutual Fund addressed the gathering about . The event was attended by corporates from other reputed financial and non- financial organizations.The speaker started the session with the introduction of Mutual Funds. He also insisted on the difference between wealth and investment. The benefits of professional fund management were also portrayed. The traditional investment savings and investments patterns were discussed and the leads and lags in these patterns were exhibited in a table which helped to understand inflation better. Inflation is the time bomb for a growing economy because it is high in a growing economy and may be insignificant in the future

The Department of Mechanical Engineering conducted a Guest Lecture on "Training on Piping Design" started at 11:30AM on 20/02/2016. Dr.G.Sasikumar, HOD of Mechanical Engineering Department welcomed the gathering, Mr.Velpandianmani, CEO Focus Projects & Consultants, Chennai. 60 students were actively participated in the Guest Lecture. It helps the students, to gain knowledge about design on piping design. The workshop provided an excellent platform for strong interaction with the speaker helps the students to learn the basics of the subject. Students got an overview of Piping Design. MBA DEPARTMENT - ABAD Export Import Pvt.Ltd.Chennai

In this program the II year MBA students had gone to ABAD Export Import Pvt.Ltd.Chennai. on 16th Feb 2016 at 11.00 am.the incharge of the Unit Mr. Aathif welcomed us . During this training our students observed the various sections like processing, preprocessing, packing and the quality maintenance. In this IPKT ,our students spent a total of two hours and thirty minutes. The visit started by 11.00am and ended at 1.30 pm. With the total of two hours and thirty minutes the students learnt the various aspects of policy of export and import, quality maintenance of perishable goods, the packaging process and the hygiene factors to be maintained in the food industry.

MBA DEPARTMENT - HR Club Inauguration & Meet

Department of Management Studies organized HR Club inauguration and HR Meet under Student Association Canel Ken16 on 06.02.2016 (Saturday). The inaugural session was attended by various department heads, faculty members and students of various departments along with MBA students. After this, Chief guest Ms.Reshma Jacob & Guest of honor Mrs.Jayashree Arunkumar released the symbolic model of HR Club. Later Mr. A.Sri ethiraj, President of HR Club elucidated the future plans of HR club. Dr.Arun V Parwate, Principal CKCET, delivered felicitation address. Mr. D. Chandrasekaran, Director, CK Institutions presided over the presidential speech. Followed by the winding up of inaugural session, HR Meet has been carried out under 3 sessions.

MBA DEPARTMENT - INDIA 2016 LEADING CHANGE at Hotel Taj Coromandel

The Madras Management Association (MMA) hosted its Annual Convention 2016 under the theme "India 2016 - Leading Change". Dr. R. Seetharaman, CEO of Doha Bank gave the special address at the inaugural session and also participated in the Special session "Leading Change in our ecosystems". The event was attended by leaders from well-known India Corporate. The convention will address the implications of emerging challenges through focused sessions on three broad sub-themes - A New Generation of Change Leaders; Leading with Ownership and Accountability and Leading Change in Our Ecosystems. The topics will be covered through a mix of speeches, panel discussions and interactive Q&A sessions. The convention has been attended by over than 600 delegates, including company officials, academicians and management professionals.

CSE DEPARTMENT - Industry Guest Lecture on Networking Technologies

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering have organized a Industry Guest Lecture on Networking Technologies for II year students on 13 Feb 2016. The session started with the introduction of Resource Person Mr.V.Soubbaya, Managing Director from Dynamic Networking Institute, Pondicherry to the students. The session began with the lecture by the Resource Person Mr.V.Soubbaya, at 10.00 AM. He continued with the information on Cisco Networking and why CCNA is the one of the most respected International certifications, how CCNA is valued in IT Certification throughout the world. He also provided career guidance on the field of Networking and interview tips on Networking. At the end of the session, students interacted with Resource Persons and clarified the doubts regarding CISCO networking.


MECHANICAL DEPARTMENT - Workshop on CAMPUS TO INDUSTRY

The Department of Mechanical Engineering conducted a Workshop on CAMPUS TO INDUSTRY at 10.00 AM on 13/02/2016. Dr.G.Sasikumar, HOD of Mechanical Engineering Department welcomed the gathering andhe explained the importance of this workshop. He mentioned about the importance of Attitude, Employability skills and Practical Knowledge. Mr.D.UMAMAHESWARAN, MANAGER(HR), Neyveli Lignite Corporation Ltd, Neyveli was the resource person of this workshop and delivered the inaugural address. Then the Workshop session was started by 10:15AM. Totally, 113 students of III year Mechanical Engineering have actively participated in the workshop. It helped the students to gain motivation for their final year placement and strong interaction with the resource person provided fundamental knowledge regarding the better performance in interviews. The highlight of this workshop was the Mock Interview session. Feed backs from the students were collected at end of the workshop. The students felt that this workshop was conducted at right time and their satisfaction over the knowledge gained through this workshop. CSE DEPARTMENT - Value added Course on "Mobile Application Development"

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering have conducted Three Day Value Added Course on "Mobile Application Development" from 28 to 30 JAN2016. The Course started at 9.30 AM with the introduction of Resource Persons, Ms.S.Jagadeeswari and Ms.S.Revathi from Deerak Solutions Pvt Ltd, Chennai by Dr.R.Murugan, Professor & Head, Department of CSE. The session began with the lecture by our resource person Ms.S.Jagadeeswari at 10.00 AM. She gave a brief introduction about the various versions of Android and session continued with the Installation steps of Android Studio Canary Version 2.0 Preview :9 with SDK Platform. In the afternoon session she educated how to add drag and drop tool boxes to the activity page and also how to create login page for each student with their individual mail-id & Passwords in android studio. At the end of the session, the valedictory function was conducted in which Mr.P.S.Praveen Shankar, Managing Director, Deerak Solutions Pvt Ltd shared his views on current IT industries and gave motivational speech to students.students were asked to give some feedbacks about the Value Added Course. Thus the program came to an end with an enlightening speech by the Head of the Department and the distribution of certificates by Resource Persons.



ECE DEPARTMENT : "TEACHERS IN - SERVICE PROGRAM"

The Program "Teachers In-Service Program (TISP)" was conducted for Higher Secondary School students to bring awareness and motivation towards the field of Engineering on 22th December 2015 (10.00 AM - 5.00 PM) at Hema Chinnikrishnan Hall, CKCET for 126 school students and 6 teachers.

The resource person of the program was Dr. N. Kumarappan, Secretary and EAC Chair, IEEE Madras Section, Chennai.

Session-1: The session started with a prayer song which was proceeded with a brief description about CKCET and Departmnet of ECE. The next part of the session was carried with honoring the dignitaries.

Session-2: Dr. N. Kumarappan then took over the session and gave a detailed introduction about IEEE under the topic "Understanding IEEE" and the talk was then continued with the topic "Engineering your classroom".

After Lunch the session was progressed with practical experiments where students were spitted into teams. Every team was given a time period and was asked to construct a windmill and solar car.

Two teams which completed the given task with minimum time were shortlisted and prizes were awarded for those teams.

The session then reached the last part in which the students and faculty members gave feedback about the session which was then followed by vote of thanks delivered by Mrs.J.Rajalakshmi.

ECE DEPARTMENT : TWO DAYS VALUE ADDED COURSE ON INTERNET OF THINGS on 25.09.2015 and 26.09.2015

The value added course was conducted for two days at DSP LAB, CKCET. The program was conducted by Mr.Abhay Bharadwaj and Mr. Reiner Rego from Frugal Labs Tech.Solutions,Bangalore. OUTCOME OF THE VALUE ADDED COURSE The participants are able work with, 1. Arduino Controller. 2. Raspberry Pi Controller. 3. Python Programming Language. 4. Wireless Home Automation Technology


S & H DEPARTMENT - NON VIOLENCE DAY

The Department of Science and Humanities celebrated World Non-Violence Day on October 2, 2015 to respect and to commemorate our Gandhiji. The students of first year participated in a great rally to create awareness about Gandhianism and the importance of Vegetarianism. As a part of the commemoration, the department's students association Young CKRreators conducted a drawing competition on Clean and Green India and Non-Violence on 1st October 2015. Mr.S.Muthukumaran, the Head of the Department of Science and Humanities inaugurated the competition. The competition started at 2.30 p.m. and continued up to 4.30 p.m. under the coordination of Mr.S.Rajasekar, the Coordinator of the students association and Assistant Professor of Mathematics. About 36 students participated in the competition. The participants proved their creativity powers through their sketching. The best presentations have been selected for appraisal. Finally, Ms. Abilasha, Assistant Professor of Mathematics, proposed the Vote of thanks.

Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of CK College of Engineering and Technology has organized parent teacher meeting on Friday & Saturday 24th &25th of September 2015 in Dr. Hema chinnikrishnan hall at 10.00a.m. The meeting was organised under the guidance and president ship of Dr.N.Mahendran Professor/Head of ECE Department. The parents was welcomed by the coordinator Mrs.D.Kanimozhi, Assistant professor ,Department of ECE. She expressed her heart felt gratitude for their active participation in this parents meet to know their wards performance. Dr.N.Mahendran professor and head of ECE Department ensured the parents that the institute trains their wards to survive in this modern technical competitive era. He also stated that the institute strives hard for the overall development of the students with quality assurance. He also informed the parents about the strategy for achieving good academic results and overall growth. The meet ended with parents refreshment and all the class teachers and the subject teachers of their respective divisions addressed the parents.

The Department of Management studies inaugurated its Students Association under the banner CANEL KEN'15 on 18.09.15. The program started at 11.00 a.m. by invocating the blessings of the Almighty. Ms. S. Pradeepa, Head i.c - MBA delivered the welcome address. As a symbol of inaugurating the association, the traditional lamp was lit by the dignitaries. Then, the dignitaries were honored. Mr. M. Franklin, Assistant Professor MBA and students association's coordinator introduced the Office bearers of the association. C. Umaparvathy, President, II Year MBA student listed out the proposed action plan of the Association activities academic year 2015-2016. Dr. Arun V Parwate, the Principal of CK College of Engineering and Technology, delivered the felicitation address in which he highlighted importance of Leadership quality. Mr. D. Chandrasekaran, the Director of CK group of institutions, delivered the presidential address and in his speech, he highlighted the importance of Entrepreneurship and he motivated students to start their own business. As an important event of the function, the Department Newsletter was released by the chief guest Dr. S.Ayyapparaja, Assistant Professor of English, Annamalai University and the dignitaries. Mr.M.Rajasekar, the coordinator of the association, read out the action plans of the association activities for the academic year 2015-2016. Dr. Arun V Parwate, the Principal of CK College of Engineering and Technology, delivered the felicitation address in which he motivated the students to take active participation in all the activities of the association. Mr.D.Chandrasekaran, the Director of CK group of institutions, delivered the presidential address. In his address, he advised the students not to feel inferior for not having command over English language. Dr.S.Ayyapparaja, the chief guest of the program motivated the students through some anecdotes and quotations. The program ended with the National Anthem. Later, a guest lecture entitled 'Role of Comprehension in Communication' was conducted in two sessions by the chief guest, Dr.S.Ayyapparaja. The students felt that the program was very useful for improving their comprehension skills.

ECE: Practical Knowledge Training : Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, Indian Space Research Organization, Trivandrum, Kerala.

In this program, 81 students of IV Year Electronics and Communication Engineering department (A and B section) & 04 students from II - PG had gone to Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, Indian Space Research Organization, Trivandrum, Kerala on 27.08.2015 at10:30 am. The Public Relation Officer of the organization welcomed us. During this training, our students were divided into two batches and sent to various sections.
In this IPKT at VSSC Museum, ISRO, Trivandrum students visited various sections like:
Vision, Mission & Objective of the organization.
Launchers - overview.
Year - by - Year launching of satellites.
Various satellite models.
SRE - Space capsule Recovery Experiment.
Space Shuttle models.
History of ISRO - Video.
In this industrial practical knowledge training, our students spent a total time of 6 hrs. The Session started by 11.00 A.M and ended at 03.00 PM. With the total four hours, the students learnt many innovative things regarding the satellite launching, tracking, location finding and location monitoring.

CIVIL: Practical Knowledge Training : Mettur dam in Salem on 4th September 2015 for second year students

Through this practical knowledge visit the students have got a clear idea about the Longitudinal and cross sectional views of dam. They had visually understood the various structural and nonstructural members of the dams such as canal regulator, tank sluice, sluice gate, spill way, canal drops etc.,Students got awareness regarding the Hydro power generation. Students were known about the storage systems at high flows during the south-west monsoon and distribute them evenly throughout the irrigation period.

Science and Humanities Organized Preplacement Traning Programme:

The program started every day at 9.00 a.m. and ended at 5.00 p.m. The program had two sessions - forenoon session and afternoon session. It had two tea breaks and one lunch break. The trainers trained the students in an effective manner. Within one day the students have become familiar with the trainers. During the sessions, the trainers made the program innovative with Self Introduction, Public Speaking, Group-interaction, Activities in the form of games, Chart Drawing, Story-telling etc. The students enjoyed the sessions very much. Especially the counselling session conducted by Immanuel Anthony Das was very helpful to sort out the internal conflicts of the students. The counselled students got some very good guidelines and solutions for their problems.

Parents meet for third year Mechanical Engineering was conducted on 04/09/2015. Around 30 parents have attended the meeting. HoD, Year co-ordinator and class incharges explained about the various department activities conducted for the benefit of students. HoD briefly explained about the importance of communication skill, attendance percentage and internal exam. Parents also interacted with us and clarified their doubts regarding the web portal entry and internal marks.

CSE DEPARTMENT ORGANIZED PARENTS TEACHERS MEETING - 2015

The Parents teachers meeting for the Department of Computer Science and Engineering were conducted on 21.08.15 & 22.08.15. This meeting was organized for IV and II Year on 21.08.15 and III Year on 22.08.15 and it was initialized by Dr.R.Murugan, Head of the Department who gave a pre-talk about the department's vision and mission also he spoke about various career opportunity available to the students including opportunity in government agencies. He has explained the importance about the Japanese language and opportunities in Japan. He also narrated about various activities organized by the Department of CSE and by the institution for the welfare of the students.

ECE Dept: IEEE TECHNICAL TALK on FUEL CELL

SECTION I "Inagural Address" - Dr.N.Kumarapan, Professor, Department of ECE, Annamalai University, Chidambaram and introduction to IEEE Student Chapter was given, explained about the benefits of IEEE Student Members and availability of scholarships and awards. SECTION II Guest lecture about " FUEL CELL" was given by Dr.N.Kumarapan. He gave introduction about fuel cells, explained about Green House gas emission and gave information about the concept of renewable energy sources. He also described about sources and advantages of fuel cells.

ECE Dept: Association inaugural function

The Department of ECE organized association inaugural function and Guest lecture on "RF MEMS" on 29/07/15 in our Institution for ECE Students. The function started with the Invocation and Dr. N. Mahendran, HoD of ECE department welcomed the gathering. It is followed by the Introduction of office bearers and the Association plans for the year 2015 odd semester were described by Mr. K.Mahendran, Association Co-ordinator. The Special address has been delivered by Dr. Arun V. Parwate, Principal followed by the keynote address given by Shri. D. Chandrasekaran, Director. Felicitation address has been delivered by Dr.S. Ragavan and followed by the presidential address has been given by Dr.N.Kumarapan. Vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. G. Abiramakrishnan of IV B, Students Secretary, coomutronix'15.

EEE Dept: Guest Lecture on HR PERSPECTIVE ON CAMPUS INTERVIEW

The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering has inaugurated student association EGNITES-2K15 along with guest lecture on " HR PERSPECTIVE ON CAMPUS INTERVIEW" for our EEE Students on 27.07.15 at Dr.Hema Chinnikrishnan Hall, CKCET. The Inauguration started with welcome address by Mr. N. Kamalakannan - HOD of EEE Department. Dr Arun V. Parwate Principal of CKCET felicitated the inauguration. Sri D. CHANDRASEKARAN, Director of CK group of Educational Institution delivered the presidential address and Chief Guest Mr. N.SELVAKUMAR, HR MANAGER ,LUCAS TVS LTD, PONDICHERRY delivered the inaugural address, after the inaugural address , student association newsletter was released by the dignitaries. The Inauguration came to an end with the vote of thanks given by Mrs. Arulvizhi , AP / EEE.


S&H : First Year Inauguration Function

With the blessings of our beloved Dr.Hema Chinnikrishnan, the CK college of Engineering and Technology has inaugurated the first year Engineering courses on 10/08/2015 in a grand manner. The function started at 10.25 a.m. with the invocation song. The traditional ceremony of "Lighting of Kuthuvilakku" was carried out by the dignitaries. In his welcome address, Dr.Arun V.Parwate, the Principal of the institution, welcomed the newly joined students. He motivated them to be always optimistic, to take care of health and he also advised them to have self-confidence. Sri D.Chandrasekaran, Director of CK Group of Institutions delivered the key note address in which he asked the students to become entrepreneurs rather than searching for a job. He also ensured that all the students would get placements by the end of their course. Then, Rv. Fr. Charles, Parish Priest, Kovilanur Church, felicitated the students with his special address. He advised the faculty members to teach the students up to their understanding level. He also directed the students to be always enthusiastic. Sri.C.K.Ashok Kumar, Trustee, Sri Jayaram educational trust, delivered the inaugural address. Meanwhile, 100% Merit Scholarships (100% fee concession) were given to eight eligible students by the Trustee. Then, he guided the students to understand the subject, to have positive thinking and to learn new languages as much as possible. Mr. S. Muthukumaran, HoD of Science & Humanities Department read out the details pertaining to the academic activities for the first year students. Then, the Heads of all the departments, the LO, the T&P Executive, and the placement officer addressed the students about their respective departments and fields. Finally, Vote of Thanks was proposed by Mrs.R.Bhuvaneswari, Assistant Professor in Physics. The function ended at 1 p.m. with the National Anthem. All the newly joined first year students along with their parents, all the Faculty members and other dignitaries witnessed the grandness.

CSE Dept: Guest Lecture on "DISRUPTIVE INNOVATION" on 16th July2015

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering conducted a Guest Lecture on "DISRUPTIVE INNOVATION" on 16th July2015. The Guest Lecture started with a welcome address by the principal, Dr. Arun V. Parwate. Our Director Mr D. Chandrasekaran gave a presidential address and presented a momentum to the Chief Guest and issued the certificate to the Students from ITESCIA for attending Students Exchange program at CKCET. The Chief Guest Mr.Armoogum Sawmy, Professor, ITESCIA gave a brief introduction about Disruptive innovation. He also motivated the students to innovate many new ideas in order to develop the bench mark of our Country against the universal Competitors. Finally the session came to an end with the vote of thanks given by CSE Department HOD Dr. R. Murugan.

CSE Dept: Industry Guest Lecture on Interactive Computer Graphics

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering have organized a Industry Guest Lecture on Interactive Computer Graphics for III year students on 25th July 2015. The session started with the introduction of Resource Persons, Mr.C.Srinivasan & Mr.N.Balasubramanian from WebZebu Software Solutions, Cuddalore. He gave a brief introduction about Adobe Photoshop & Flash software and also gave a presentation for the students to understand the various image formats and discussed about various concepts on flash tools like variables and syntax along with general usages and advantages on graphical designing. Finally the session came to an end with the vote of thanks given by CSE Department HOD Dr. R. Murugan.

CSE Dept: Student Association Inauguration CODE KERMIT 2015

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering have inaugurated Student Association "CODE KERMIT'15" on 11.07.2015 at College premises. Our Department HOD, Dr.R.Murugan, gave welcome address to the gathering. The ceremony was presided over by shri. D. Chandrasekaran, Director of CKCET and the Principal Dr. Arun V.Parwate felicitated the gathering and the guest of honor was Mr. S. Kabilan, President & CEO, RoadMap IT Solutions, Pudhucherry The office bearers of CODEKERMIT'15 were introduced by Mr.D.Santhakumar, AP/CSE & The Association plan was read by Ms Nandhini H, President of CODE KERMIT'15. Our Guest Mr. S. Kabilan informed the students that he will facilitate the students with ERP usage in CKCET campus and also assured that he will provide maximum placements to the students of CKCET. Finally the Inaugural function ended with the Vote of Thanks delivered by our Association Vice President Ms. K. Dhivya.

CSE Dept: Guest Lecture on Industry Preparedness

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering have organized a Guest Lecture on Industry Preparedness for our students on 7th March 2015. The session started with the invocation by II-yr girls. Dr.R.Murugan, HOD - CSE gave welcome address, K.Dhivya from II-yr introduced the Resource Person Mr.R.Kathigeyan, HR-Manager from Lenovo Pvt Ltd, Puducherry. The session began with the lecture by the resource person Mr.R.Kathigeyan, at 11.00 AM. He insisted on the importance of self-confidence which is the key for success in everyone life and given tips on how to improve self-confidence within themselves. He told to increase the capacity of knowledge sharing and communication within the students. Finally he suggested students to choose their right path and march towards their path. At the end of the session students gave feedback about the guest lecture and thanked the resource persons for sharing his knowledge with them.

CSE Dept: Guest Lecture on GATE Awareness Program

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering have organized a Guest Lecture on GATE Awareness Program for our students on 6th March 2015. The session started with the introduction of Resource Person Mr.S.Balamurugan, Regional Manager from GATEForum Chennai, to the students by Dr.R.Murugan, HOD - CSE. The session began with the lecture by the resource person Mr.S.Balamurugan, at 02.00 Pm. He gave a brief introduction about GATE and also gave a presentation on how to do higher studies in various IIT. He educated on the importance of GATE Score and it's a must nowadays for pursuing higher studies in all IIT's & NIT's. He mentioned about the various IIT available in India. He also gave information on various Public Sector Units (PSU's) in which GATE score is must for recruitment and mentioned about the public sectors available throughout India.

The Management and Department of Computer Science & Engineering have organized a Two days' workshop on "High Impact Communication And Self Confidence Building" for II year Students on 30.01.15 & 31.01.15. The Inauguration of Workshop started with welcome address by Dr.R.Murugan - HOD of CSE Department. Dr Arun V. Parwate Principal of CKCET felicitated the inauguration and Chief Guest Mr. Bharat Chaugule, Course Director & NLP Trainer - The Real Success delivered the inaugural address. CSE Dept: Organized Guest Lecture on "NS2"

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering have organized a Guest Lecture on "NS2 (Network Simulators)" for II year students on 13th January 2015. The session started with the introduction of Resource Persons, Mr.G.Vinoth Kumar & Ms.R.Manimekala from IIS Technologies, Chennai, to the students by Dr.R.Murugan, HOD - CSE. The session began with the lecture by the resource person Mr.G.Vinoth Kumar, at 10.00 am. He gave a brief introduction about Network Simulators and also gave a presentation for the students to understand the basics of Networks and discussed about various details of Network Simulation such as Nodes, Types of Links between Nodes, Switching and Routing.

CSE Department: Parents meet on 28.02.15

The Parents teachers meeting for the department of computer science and engineering were conducted on 28.02.15. This meeting was organized for all the year students and it was initialized by Dr.R.Murugan, Head of the Department who gave a pre-talk about the department's vision and mission also he spoke about various career opportunity available to the students including opportunity in government agencies. He also narrated about various activities organized by the department of CSE and by the institution for the welfare of the students. The department Newsletter has been prepared in both Tamil and English that has been distributed to parents along with their wards university result.

S&H Dept: QUIZ COMPETITION

First Year Students Association under the banner of Young CKReators of Science and Humanities has organized the Quiz Programme for the first year students from 29 January 2015 to 31 January 2015. 256 students (out of 295 students) participated in the preliminary session of quiz programme on 29 and 30 January 2015. 16 teams out of 64 teams were qualified for semifinals and 4 teams entered the final on 31 January 2015. Dr.N.Mahendren, HoD/ECE, Mr.N.Kamalakannan, HoD/EEE, Mr.K.Mallieswaran, HoD/Civil and Mr.Bharanidharan, HoD/MBA were acted as Judges for the finals on 31 January afternoon. The first year of ECE has bagged the first prize and EEE has received the second prize. Mr. S. Muthukumaran, HoD of first year congratulated the winners and appreciated the efforts of Young CKReators

S&H Dept: ENHANCING COMMUNICATION SKILLS - VIDEO LECTURE

The department of Science and Humanities conducted the Video Lecture on the topic Enhancing Communication Skills on 14 February 2015. The program was conducted in two sessions. The morning session was attended by ECE, CSE, & EEE students. The introductory remark was given by Mr.S.Muthukumaran, the Head of the Department of S&H. He also motivated the students to take active participation in the program. The evening session was attended by Mech-A, Mech - B, & Civil students. The Video Lecture was delivered by Mr. M.Ratchagar, Assistant Professor of English. The prime objectives of the program is i) To make the students to understand the importance of English ii) To energise the emerging engineers iii) To discover a new self I in you. The English team and faculty members attended the video lecture. The programme ended with the feedback from the students.

S&H Dept: Guest Lecture on Methods in Mathematics

The department of Science and Humanities conducted Guest Lecture entitled "Methods in Mathematics" on Tuesday (03/03/15) for ECE, CSE, EEE in the morning session and Mechanical and Civil Engineering in the afternoon session. Mr.S.Muthukumaran, Head of the Department of S&H welcomed the gathering. Dr.Sudeesh, Associate Professor of Mathematics, University college of Engineering, Villupuram, gave the lecture to the students to understand the Importance of Mathematics in Engineering discipline, Application of Mathematics and Methods in Mathematics. He elicited the practical use of Mathematics. The message "Only a good Mathematician can become a good Engineer" was conveyed through this guest lecture. The programme helped the students to understand the role of mathematics in the area of Engineering. Mr.V.Balakrishnan, the coordinator of Mathematics proposed the vote of thanks. The faculty and students of various discipline attended this programme.

ECE Department: Short term course on "NS2 simulator in Wireless Sensor Networks" from 12 - 13 Jan 2015.

Dr. N. Mahendran, HoD of Electronics & Communication Engineering welcomed the gathering. Miss.Janaga Dharani, Design Engineer , Elysium Technology, Coimbatore and Miss.Sasikala, Design Engineer , Elysium Technology, Chennai, started the session at 10 AM and explained the "OSI Layers and the Tutorial in NS2 Simulator in Wireless Sensor Networks ". This Short Term course was conducted for the Pre-final and final year students year students from 12th to 13th Jan 2015 Students gained knowledge on "OSI Layers and the Tutorial in NS2 Simulator in Wireless Sensor Networks".The session ended with Hands on training and feedback from the students.
